Peace of Mind Yoga, Counseling, and Wellness Center provides a safe space for people to explore their past traumas and learn tools of healing and regulation. So that they can reach their goals and be better partners, workers, CEOs, parents, friends, and community members.

As a trauma-informed center, we provide not only talk therapy but somatic experiences of yoga and mediation.

EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a comprehensive, integrative psychotherapy approach. It contains elements of many effective psychotherapies in structured protocols that are designed to maximize treatment effects. These include psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, experiential, and body-centered therapies.

EMDR psychotherapy is an information processing therapy and uses an eight-phase approach to address the experiential contributors of a wide range of pathologies. It attends to the past experiences that have set the groundwork for pathology, the current situations that trigger dysfunctional emotions, beliefs, and sensations, and the positive experience needed to enhance future adaptive behaviors and mental health.

SSP
Safe and Sound Protocol

Nourish and awaken the nervous system. Feel better. Think better. Connect better.

The Safe and Sound Protocol, or SSP,  is a non-invasive application of Polyvagal Theory, based on decades of research and developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, Unyte’s Chief Scientific Advisor.

The SSP program, which is facilitated by qualified and certified professionals, employs a practical bottom-up approach to help people regulate their nervous system more consistently and independently.

By using carefully curated music, the persons are able to listen to a session of music while regulating their nervous system.

Hi, I’m Kris Silvestry.

For over 18 years I have been providing trauma-informed care to people in many different spaces. From the shelters, to schools, prisons, our counseling space, and our yoga studio, people from all walks of life have enriched and taught me about the human experience. Over the years I have obtained numerous certifications under the rich umbrella of trauma theories and yoga intensives.

With all of the licenses and certifications being wonderful, what is also important is that I am a:

Mom to two awesome girls

Wife to a brilliant human

Aunt to hilarious nephews and nieces

Long time friend to those I love

Swimmer in the ocean or pool

Lover of meditation and yoga

Biker on the Peloton with Jess, Robin, Tunde, and Alex

Long time of gardener

Listener to music, books on audible or podcasts
